On the 16th of October 2024, Colonel (OF-5) Stuart HAY (UK), Commander of the 7th Air Defence Group, with a UK delegation visited the Integrated Air & Missile Defence Centre of Excellence (IAMD COE) premises at Chania.
During the visit a classified Video Teleconference (VTC) was convened between the UK delegation, the Competence Centre Surface-Based Air and Missile Defence (CC SBAMD), and the IAMD CoE to identify areas of mutual interest in order to expand and enhance IAMD interoperability and operational readiness, in concert with IAMD COE vision to become a relevant HUB.
The UK delegation was also briefed on the Centre’s transformational activities as well as on its contribution to the NATO Alliance.
