On Monday 4th of March 2024, the Integrated Air & Missile Defence Centre of Excellence (IAMD CoE) organized a ‘’Cyber – Security’’ Seminar, at the Officers’ Club at Souda Air Force Base, in Chania.
Major General (OF-7) Nikolaos KOKKONIS GRC (AF), Director of IAMD COE, welcomed the attendees and our distinguished speaker, stressing the importance of Cyber-Security and the risks in our operational and daily life.
The Centre hosted as a speaker, Mr. Sozon Leventopoulos, MSc, PhD(c) SME Cyber/Warfare, an Ex-military Officer and Subject Matter Expert with profound and extensive knowledge, in both Military Operational Planning and Cybersecurity challenges, risks, and methods.
The seminar was attended by military and non-military personnel from units around the area of Souda Air Base and from the Fire Brigade department at Chania. It covered a wide area of topics such as Malicious Software Attacks & Defence, Hybrid Threats, Malware as a Geopolitical Tool, Legal Requirements and Opportunities, New Threats, Artificial Intelligence, Post-Quantum Cryptography, etc.
