On Friday 15th of March 2024, Brigadier General (OF-6) Nikolaos MAKRYGIANNIS GRC (AF) assumed command of Integrated Air & Missile Defence Centre of Excellence from Major General (OF-7) Nikolaos KOKKONIS (GRC AF) during a Change of Command Ceremony held at the Centre’s premises at Souda Air Base, Chania, Greece.
Vice Admiral (OF-8) Christos SASIAKOS GRC (N), Deputy Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, presided over the ceremony.
Senior military and civil service Officers from Military Units and Centre’s in the area, distinguished guests, and the Centre’s international staff attended the ceremony.
Prior to relinquishing command, Major General (OF-7) Nikolaos KOKKONIS GRC (AF) delivered his final remarks as the Integrated Air & Missile Defence Centre of Excellence Director and thanked those in attendance, Framework Nation Greece and all other Sponsoring Nations, his family, and the IAMD COE personnel.
Major General (OF-7) Nikolaos KOKKONIS GRC (AF) is moving in Larissa as Deputy Commander in the Hellenic Air Force Command.
