On May 6, 2022 Brigadier General (OF-6) Nikolaos KOKKONIS (GRC AF) assumed command of Integrated Air & Missile Defence Centre of Excellence from Brigadier General (OF-6) Evangelos TZIKAS (GRC AF) during a Change of Command Ceremony held at the Centre’s premises at Souda Air Base, Chania, Greece.
Lieutenant General (OF-8) Konstantinos KELLARIS (GRC AF), Chief of Staff of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, presided over the ceremony.
Senior military and civil service officers from Military Units and Centre’s in the area, distinguished guests and the Centre’s international staff attended the ceremony.
Prior to relinquishing command, Brigadier General (OF-6) Evangelos TZIKAS (GRC AF) delivered his final remarks as the Integrated Air & Missile Defence Centre of Excellence Director and thanked those in attendance, Framework Nation Greece and all other Sponsoring Nations, his family, and the IAMD COE personnel. Brigadier General (OF-6) Evangelos TZIKAS (GRC AF) is moving to Spain to become the Deputy Commander of the Combine Air Operation Centre Torrejon (CAOC-TORREJON).
